This fused glass dish is created by glass artist Jen Smith in her home glass studio in Tuscon, AZ. When creating glass pieces she starts with a 5” square pieces of glass.
Layers of powder glass are placed on a piece of sheet glass. A freehand design is etched into the powder, creating a batik inspired look. Once the dish goes through an initial firing to fuse the pattern it is then cooled and put back into the kiln to be slumped into the bowl shape.
These little dishes are great for jewelry storage, a spoon rest, a catchall tray by the front door, or you could even use them as little cocktail dishes.
• 5 inch square
• shallow impression in center
